Kim Swanson, Consultant
Ms. Swanson brings extensive experience building support for the development and delivery
of new health technologies to Applied Strategies. In her previous work at Global Health
Strategies, she worked with one of the world's largest vaccine companies to develop
an understanding of stakeholder perceptions of their malaria vaccine candidate. She
also helped lead the firm's work to build public support and drive resources for a
new, low-cost cervical cancer diagnostic. Ms. Swanson received a Thomas J. Watson
Fellowship and spent the year designing and managing several microcredit research
projects in East Africa, India, Tanzania, Malawi, and Uganda. In her work at the 2005
G8 Summit for DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa), she helped organize a global media
campaign and worked with journalists from CNN, CNBC, and other outlets to build support
for G8 assistance to Africa. Ms. Swanson holds a BS in mathematical economic analysis
from Rice University.
