Sandy Wrobel, CEO & Managing Director

Ms. Wrobel is chief executive officer, managing director, and co-founder of Applied Strategies, a management consulting firm dedicated to bridging the discoveries of life sciences and the needs of global health. Her visionary leadership and passion for excellence has established Applied Strategies as an expert resource for vaccine and drug development and investment strategies in the global health community and life sciences industry. She has been integral to the company's work in helping the global health community forecast vaccine supply and demand, understand the implications of innovative vaccine financing mechanisms, assess the value and risk to suppliers and donors of global markets, and understand the potential impact of new product introduction, both individually and across a portfolio of new products and interventions. She has also led projects assessing new technology critical path and health impact, conducting global market characterization and value assessments, and supporting public-private partnerships.

Ms. Wrobel's expertise in strategy development and implementation, R&D portfolio management and methodology, and organizational design and development comes from a long career consulting to and working within industry. As a senior partner at Strategic Decisions Group, she grew the Life Sciences practice to the largest revenue-generating practice and was instrumental in developing the portfolio analysis methodology that is used in the majority of major pharmaceutical companies. While CFO and VP Business Operations at IntraBiotics Pharmaceutical, she developed corporate strategies, analyzed and optimized the R&D portfolio, established project-based budgeting, and created or reengineered numerous departments to enable ongoing and scalable company operations.

Ms. Wrobel earned an MBA from Stanford University with an emphasis in the decision sciences and a BS in chemical and petroleum refining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
